The cavities were destroying conventional blades.
In the early 2000s, Marron Emperador was one of the most demanded marbles in Novelda. Its frequent natural cavities created a serious cutting problem: conventional segments could be damaged or detached when crossing the voids, leading to blade failures.
We changed the segment geometry.
Diamond Service developed and patented the world’s first trapezoidal diamond segments, specifically designed to withstand these extreme cutting conditions and improve segment stability.
A new way to cut Marron Emperador.
The new geometry made reliable industrial cutting of Marron Emperador possible and gave Diamond Service a unique solution for a material that was causing serious problems throughout the Novelda stone district.
